I'm using 10.6.8 on a mbpro 2011 and I got locked out of my continuously running Skype 6.15.0333 upon log out from Skype and relaunching, considering some ***** has hacked my account (and how is that possible on the oh, then secure MSN site is still a mystery) and ship spam to all my contacts, in Russian of course.
Skype now tells me that "We've signed you out considering you lot're using an outdated version of Skype. Download the latest version" - which of course does not run on Snow Leopard. You even so get directed to download the proper 6.xv version for Mac OS X 10.6.eight but it does non work!
And... is everyone hither listening and reading complaints posts from back in June 28?

Thank you AdminPromart for your very colourful explanation of the problems yous are facing. I would simply take a moment to remind you well-nigh the community code of conduct you agreed to when you joined.
That said I sympathize your frustrated. To say there is nothing you can use is not quite accurate, users on Mac versions below 10.9 can of course use Skype for Web for chat but calling requires that you lot have OSX 10.9 too - providing you lot accept a supported browser.

I knew that my colorful post will have an effect, so information technology was intentional.
However, to straight the users of 10.vi.8 to a web version of Skype - which BTW I tested and is awful - is an unprofessional and unsatisfactory answer to the problem faced by the huge amount of Mac users that stayed with Snow Leopard considering of its reliability. This seem to me closer to an insult than to a solution.

I am sad you feel my reply was an Insult, it was not meant as such - merely a style to allow y'all to continue to apply Skype on platforms we will no longer support.
I would be unable to comment on how your business relationship was hacked only I am sure you lot're aware of the most common ways, i.e. Same account details used on compromised site or using the same username and passwords accross services. We provide a helpful FAQ on account security and, once you have converged your business relationship to a Microsoft account you can enable two Factor Authentication meaning any new device accessing your account will demand to enter a passcode which we volition send you to be able to complete login.
To reply point two in your post - I tin only presume you lot are getting some sort of caching fault with your download and information technology will eventually update accordingly. 1. When I'grand on the Skype-Site, it figures as the newes version for Mac the Skype 6.15 Version. Simply is not running with Mac. 10.6.8. But in no identify information technology's mentioned that Mac 10.6.8. is not suported any longer.

My, my Allen, another one of your workaround "solutions" bites the dust, eh? For that matter, none of the stuff you mentioned in your reply to my rant makes sense or is truthful, yous realize that, don't you? Cache-ing problems on the MS/Skype website, when launched from the chief MSN page, afterwards merging my account with MS, and aforementioned for download page for six.15.... who exercise you take us for, some born-yesterday morons with no inkling how things work? Why waste material time insulting our intelligence by roofing a planed but well-bearded corporate motility with nonsense, hoping it will go abroad quietly?
